Since the very beginning of YSCF Brad and I set out to create an inclusive, friendly, and collaborative fitness facility. YSCF embraced the garage gym ethos, and thrived in that environment. The community we’ve built with you and the quality of coaches that have come through our doors have created a culture unlike any other that we have been a part of.
Our goal has been, and continues to be, to expand the reach of CrossFit to the masses to share the joy we found in CrossFit. In pursuit of that goal, we have some exciting updates coming to the gym:
So, what’s next?
1. In July, we’ll begin offering a mix of different types of classes on Mondays and Thursdays, with the mixed schedule taking over an additional weekday every month until we’re running a fully mixed schedule in October. The new class types will be based on some of the new programming that you guys have been enjoying over the past couple of months: In addition to Hybrid and CrossFit classes, one new class will be focused on short AMRAPs with rest between, and the other with focus on EMOMs combining strength and conditioning work.
(For more detailed info on these class types, check out this document.)
2. We will transition the Buddha room into an Open Gym space. Anyone who is not directly participating in a scheduled class will have a space to do their own thing, and the class will be able to run without interruption.
3. We will be re-locating at the end of the year to a new facility. The new facility will be located directly behind YSCF at 3851 Steele St. More details will follow as things progress.
4. We will be re-branding, which will correspond with the move to the new facility. More details will follow as things progress.
I know many of you will have questions and I hope to have an answer to most. Feel free to shoot me an email if you do have questions. Oh, and don’t worry, your membership will transfer to the new facility. The final product is going to blow you away!
